Surfing Katwijk
Riding the waves, standing on a surfboard, all the way up to the beach! We start every lesson with the basic techniques on the beach, after which the group, under supervision enters the water and tries to catch the first waves whilst paddling. Discover that surfing is a very enjoyable and versatile sport that can easily be practiced in the Northsea.

Surfing lessons
Surfschool Katwijk is the perfect address to learn surfing. Compared to a lot of other coastal towns in the Netherlands, here in Katwijk it is still very quiet in the water.
- Private lessons max 2 people
We can organise private lessons daily, you will get in the water with your own instructor.
Private lesson: 1.5h €55,00 p.p. 2 persons per instructor.
Private lesson: 2h €65,00 p.p. 2 persons per instructor.
Private lesson: 1.5h €75,00 p.p. 1 person per instructor.Our prices include the use of all the materials you need during your lesson!
- Private & group lessons
If you are at least with 4 people, you can book a group lesson with your own group 7 days a week! One of our experienced instructors will get in the water with you and no other people will join the lesson.
Group lesson: 1.5h, €30,00 p.p. 4-8 persons
Group lesson: 1.5h, €27,50 p.p. 9-15 personsFor groups >15 persons we handle special prices. Please get in contact with us.

- Open group lesson individuals
Open lessons
Every Saturday at 12:00, there are ‘open’ adult surf lessons at Surfschool-Katwijk. You can sign up for these lessons without obligation via the contact page. These lessons are also beneficial for those with more experience. The instructor(s) will provide tips at every level.
The open lessons for adults take place every Saturday at 12:00. During the summer holidays, there are multiple open lessons for adults per week.
Group lesson: 1,5h €30,00 p.p. Maximum 6-8 persons per instructor.

- Kids Experience
Youth lessons
Surfschool Katwijk has been organizing surf lessons for children for over 15 years under the name ‘Kids Experience’. These fun and educational lessons are suitable for children aged 7 and above who have at least an A diploma (basic swimming certificate).
The youth lessons take place every Wednesday at 16:00 and Saturday morning at 10:30. During the summer holiday, there are also youth lessons on Fridays at 16:00.
The Kids Experience is the perfect activity outside of children’s ‘regular’ sports, entirely optional and without performance pressure.
The price for a youth lesson is €20 per person. There will be an instructor who goes into the water with the kids all the time.

- Membership Kids Experience
Member cards are also available at Surfschool-Katwijk. With a member card, you are entitled to 5 surf lessons for €90. Siblings can use this strip card together, and it remains valid indefinitely.
Only validates with the kids experience.
Surfing lesson build up
During a surf lesson, we always start with a theory session and exercises on the beach. After this part, it’s time to hit the water and try to catch your first wave. Our instructors are certified and have extensive experience in teaching. They accompany you into the water and provide continuous tips.
During the lesson the instructor will teach you all about the following things;
- Safety
- Positioning on the surfboard
- How to cath your first wave
- Take off
- Right technique on the board
- Steering
- Surfers etiquette
